April 8 The GC Office of Information Technology Seeks (IT Data Entry Aide)

Job Description

Title: IT Aide
Functional Title: IT Data Entry Aide
Reports to: Web Services Manager

The Office of Information Technology is seeking the part-time assistance of one IT Aide. The IT Aide will report to the Web Services Manager and will perform data entry and web content update as needed to the GC website. These positions will work closely with staff of GC offices, programs and centers and institutes, as well as, IT Staff to upkeep and maintain relevant web content.

Responsibilities
• Data entry of updated existing web content to the GC site
• Kentico account creation
• One-on-one training for the staff of the GC in the use of Kentico
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
• Basic computer knowledge and/or experience; experience working with HTML; understanding of CSS; familiarity with web based tools and concepts; familiarity working with a Content Management System like WordPress and Kentico is a plus
• Ability to work independently as well as a member of a project team
• Must be able to work closely with representatives of all GC offices, programs and centers, as well as IT staff, as the work unfolds
• Ability to adhere to established schedules and meet critical deadlines.
• Good planning and organizational skills; attention to detail
• Effective communication skills; proficiency with the English language
• Flexibility in scheduling is preferred as work may fluctuate based on project phase
• Reliability and dependability

Appointment and Compensation Notes

• Graduate Center students are employed as IT Aides by way of GC student employment appointments.
• During the Fall and Spring semesters, such students may be assigned to work up to 19 hours per week, funds permitting, when classes are in session; during winter and summer, such students may be assigned to work up to 35 hours per week, funds permitting, when classes are not in session.
• Students can be appointed on either a semester basis or an academic year basis; appointments can be renewed without restriction.
• Students will be accountable for a contracted number of hours of work; weekly timesheets will be required.
• Compensation is based on a fixed hourly rate. There are no associated benefits.
