Dagmar Herzog on How Psychoanalysis Got Sexually Conservative: The “Jewish Science” Crosses the Atlantic

 

Dagmar Herzog is the Distinguished Professor of History and Daniel Rose Faculty Scholar at the Graduate Center of The City University of New York.  Her work focuses on the history of psychoanalysis and psychiatry, sexual politics in a global context and the political and intellectual history of modern Europe.  Dr. Herzog’s books include: Cold War Freud: Psychoanalysis in an Age of Catastrophes and Sex After Fascism: Memory & Morality in Twentieth Century Germany.
