The Mina Rees Library is hosting four upcoming workshops about Grants & Funding:

Budgeting for Federal Agency Grants
March 5 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

This webinar will provide faculty a better understanding of how to develop pre-award budgets costs to reflect the funding needed to carry out their proposed projects. Presenters: Melissa Lazo (Associate Director, Sponsored Programs, ASRC) and Poline Papoulis (Director, Office of Research & Sponsored Programs, Queens College). Grants & Funding: An Introduction

Join us for an illuminating workshop about the intricacies of applying and seeking grants and other forms of funding. We’ll cover the grants databases Pivot, Grantforward, and Candid/Foundation Center suite of search tools, as presented by librarians Kate Angell and Elvis Bakaitis. Additionally, this workshop will be co-hosted by Dr. Edith Gonzalez, Executive Director of Research and Sponsored Programs. This is the perfect opportunity to ask questions and learn how to get started.

Data Management Plans for Grant Applications

In this workshop we will cover: What is research data?Why share your data?

How to write a data management plan for your grant proposal or paper

Data management plans are required in most grant applications these days. We’ll provide a DMP checklist and a good sample to learn from.

Grant Prospecting Strategies and Resources

April 2 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

This workshop will present the basics of using Pivot, Grant Forward and the Foundation Directory. Presenters: Kate Angell (Adjunct Reference Librarian) and Elvis Bakaitis (Interim Head of Reference). An excellent introduction to search strategies, including how to set up individualized email alerts for grant opportunities, as well as a research profile.
