Horace Mann School, an independent high school, is seeking to hire a graduate student or a degree-holding historian for a part time teaching position for the remainder of the 2021-22 academic year. The position will transition to a full-time history, long-term position in the 2022-23 school year and applicants would be eligible to be considered for the full time position. The position in 2021-22 would entail teaching two sections of a political philosophy course to 11th and 12th grade students at the school’s campus in the Bronx.  The position would allow the teacher some autonomy in the selection of readings and assignments over the course of the year. The course is discussion-based, seminar-style. The school anticipates in-person learning for the school year. The school is accessible by subway. Candidates should be fully vaccinated.
