Yesterday students at the University of Puerto Rico’s National Assembly voted in favor of an indefinite national student strike with demands to halt the destructive university budget cuts, tuition hikes, and to audit the public debt. Like Rutgers University and others, we are beginning an effort to build solidarity among the CUNY community and build connections between the struggles at CUNY and la UPR.

A group of students from Sociology and Anthropology have scheduled an open planning meeting for this Friday, April 7th from 2:00pm-4:00pm in room 5409 at the CUNY Graduate Center to begin drafting a statement and plan possible events.
