Hiring for tenure track historian position at Kingsborough Community College
The Department of History, Philosophy and Political Science at Kingsborough Community College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in History, starting Fall 2022. We are seeking candidates with primary expertise in Latin American/Latinx History, African History and/or Asian History. The ideal candidate will teach and do research from interdisciplinary, racial/ethnic studies, diasporic, and/or transnational perspectives. They should also be able to teach U.S. history survey courses, if needed.
We seek faculty interested in contributing to college-wide programming and curriculum initiatives such as civic engagement, first-year seminars, learning communities, Honors Program, Racial/Ethnic Studies, and Gender and Sexuality Studies.
Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
