The Professional Staff Congress is the union that represents more than 25,000 faculty and staff at the City University of New York (CUNY) and the CUNY Research Foundation. It is dedicated to advancing the professional lives of its members, enhancing their terms and conditions of employment, and maintaining the strength of the nation’s largest, oldest and most visible urban public university. The benefits PSC members receive—from healthcare and pension benefits to professional development grants to disability and death benefits—are paid for by contributions from CUNY. Those contributions are negotiated during bargaining as part of members’ compensation. Maintaining and improving benefits is thus part of the union’s contract campaign during negotiations and an important reason for members to get involved in the contract campaign.

If you are interested in joining the Professional Staff Congress union feel free to visit the following website: www.psc-cuny.org.

It is important to check whether you’re already a member by calling the PSC membership department (212-354-1252) or by visiting the following website: www.psc-cuny.org/are-you-member.  The only way to become a member is to fill out the membership card. If you have not filled out a membership card it may mean that you are not a member even if you receive compensation through CUNY. Click here to request an application card; it takes less than 60 seconds to complete the online form.
