May 15 Gilder Lehrman Fellowship, 2017

The Gilder Lehrman Institute offers annual short-term research fellowships of $3000 each to doctoral candidates, college and university faculty at every rank, and independent scholars working in the field of American history.

These fellowships support research at archives in New York City. Since 1994, the Gilder Lehrman Institute has awarded a total of 633 fellowships.

To apply for a Scholarly Fellowship[gilderlehrman.us11.list-manage.com], candidates must submit:

  • A 2-5 page project proposal including contact information, a list of primary sources to be consulted, and an anticipated budget
  • A curriculum vitae
  • Two letters of recommendation from established scholars
  • Applications must be postmarked or submitted electronically by Monday, May 15, 2017. All applicants will be notified of their status by Monday, June 12, 2017.
