Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Job Description:
The incumbent prepares and delivers instruction in introductory History courses to a diverse student body. S/he also provides regular and timely feedback to students and provides innovative classroom instruction to promote student success. Evening, weekend, morning, and afternoon teaching assignments may be provided. S/he will also actively participate in all departmental assessments and classroom management requirements.
History Classes:
Africa – Modern and Ancient; Caribbean History; Global/World History: Latin American History; US History – Colonial, 19th Century and 20th Century; Western Civilizations I & II.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Master’s degree in History and one year of college-level teaching experience is required.
Additional Information:
$82.57 per hour. No benefits.
