Tenure-Track position @ The University of Colorado Boulder

The University of Colorado Boulder seeks a scholar of Islam for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies to begin August 2015, area of specialization open.

Candidates are expected to have command of the classical texts of Islamic religion as well as competence in the study of religious thought and practice. Candidates must possess a record or promise of scholarly publishing, appropriate linguistic proficiency, and a Ph.D. prior to appointment. Also relevant is a demonstrated ability to teach theoretical and comparative topics in the academic study of religion. The normal teaching load is four courses annually distributed between the Department’s Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts course offerings. Salary, research support, and benefits are competitive.
