The American Studies Program at Trinity College will appoint an innovative scholar whose research and teaching locates American culture and events within a transnational approach. Candidates may work in any period, but preference will be given to those whose work centers on social justice in a world-historical context. The successful candidate contributes to other departments and interdisciplinary programs, such as English, Environmental Science, History, International Studies, Sociology, and/or Women, Gender, and Sexuality. This is a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in American Studies or related discipline or a reasonable expectation of completing the Ph.D. by August 2019.
