The Department of Humanities (School of Liberal Arts) at Mercy College invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in History at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting September 2015.  For this position, we seek candidates who can teach survey and upper-division courses in European history.  Preference will be given to candidates who specialize in women’s, gender, or sexuality studies and with teaching experience or interests in World History.  Teaching is at the heart of our mission, and we are committed to building student-mentoring relationships, as well as helping students develop analytical skills for a lifetime of success.  We are looking for applicants with a record of excellent teaching experience who are committed to ongoing scholarly research and service to the department, the college, and the liberal arts.  The position requires completion of Ph.D. before time of appointment.
