Multicultural Identities in Academia Support Group

Thursdays 10-11:15AM EST EVERY WEEK

Facilitated by Dr. Inez Strama via Webex

  • Are you an international student struggling to navigate academia in U.S. culture? To adjust to the culture of grad school?
  • Are you American-born & trying to better understand your multi-racial and/or multi-ethnic identities within academia?
  • Are you a first, second, or 1.5-generation immigrant grappling with microaggressions, racism, or discrimination in academia?

This group offers support to international students and students from various multicultural backgrounds (i.e., racial, ethnic, religious, socioeconomic, etc.). You’ll have a chance to connect with others, tell your story, and learn from others’ experiences. You are not alone!

If you are interested in joining, please complete our request for services form and email it to wellness@gc.cuny.edu (include a picture of your student I.D.)

Individual Screening with group facilitator(s) is required. You must be a currently registered GC student to join.
