12/15 – DSRG & Zoom info session

If you are a doctoral student in your second through sixth year, you are likely eligible to apply for the Doctoral Student Research Grant, which can get you up to $1,500 for research, travel expenses, accommodations, conference fees, a research assistant, supplies not covered by your program, as well as other expenses not covered by your program — for libraries, databases, publication fees, etc.

IMPORTANT: One major difference from previous rounds: You will need to be registered for the Spring 2024 semester before you can apply via CUNYfirst. (Registration for the upcoming Spring semester is a requirement from the Financial Aid office.)

GUIDELINES, DEADLINES & MORE

The deadline to apply for the grant is January 31, 2024. Though we encourage you to start applying today.

Meantime, for more information about the grant, take a look at the DSRG guidelines:https://www.gc.cuny.edu/sites/default/files/2023-12/DSRG-19-Guidelines-final.pdf

Also, please note: if you apply and are awarded (sometime in April or May of 2024) and for some reason you cannot go through with your original plan (e.g. if the conference you planned to attend is cancelled or you’ve discovered a better conference), you will have the option of changing your original plan — with approval from your mentor. It’s a simple process, and we’ll help you along the way.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions at dsrg@gc.cuny.edu . But first, read the guidelines.
