3/9 – The Art of the Informational Interview

If you are conducting your job search by only applying to online postings, you may be significantly decreasing your chances of getting job interviews. Surveys have shown that about 75-80% of job positions are achieved thorough some form of networking. This workshop will delve into (possibly) the most effective form of networking: the informational interview. The informational interview involves approaching and contacting people who are doing the type of job that you would like to be doing or working in an organization that interests you in order to gain insider information and make useful contacts. In this workshop, you will learn how to identify people to speak with, what questions to ask them, and how to follow up for maximum effect.
