Lead a Jane’s Walk This Year & Celebrate New York City History

The Municipal Art Society of New York (MAS) has reached out to invite students and faculty within the CUNY Graduate Center’s Ph.D. History Program to submit walks for the upcoming Jane’s Walk NYC Festival (May 1-3, 2026).

Hosted by MAS, Jane’s Walk NYC is an annual city-wide festival of free, volunteer-led walking conversations celebrating New York City history, life, culture, and more. Inspired by urbanist, author, and activist Jane Jacobs, the festival encourages people to share stories about their neighborhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and connect with visitors and neighbors alike.

Now until Tuesday, March 31, they are accepting submissions for walks. They would love to have the CUNY Graduate Center represented at Jane’s Walk NYC this year!

Additionally, they are hosting an in-person information session at Brooklyn Public Library Greenpoint on Thursday, March 26 at 5:30 PM. RSVP here >
