Job Opportunities

Adjunct Teaching Position — U.S. Women’s History, Rutgers University, Newark

The department of history at Rutgers University-Newark is looking for an advanced graduate student or recent Ph.D. to teach two sections of History of Women in the United States to 1877 in the fall of 2022.  The classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday, from 10:00 to 11:20 and 11:30 to 12:50.  The person who has been teaching these courses just accepted a full-time teaching position, so there may be opportunity for ongoing part-time teaching.

There are many good and easy ways to get from NYC to Newark depending on where in the city you are leaving from. The PATH trains run straight to Newark Penn Station from the WTC and from 33rd Street (or subsequent stops) with a transfer in Jersey City.  Every single New Jersey Transit train leaving Penn Station stops either at Newark Penn Station or Newark Broad Street Station.  Newark Penn Station is an easy walk (just under a mile) to campus, with regular light rail and shuttle buses also available.  Broad Street is an even easier walk (just under half a mile) to campus.
