American Studies at Trinity College – two-year post-doctoral position

The Graduate Program in American Studies at Trinity College invites applications for a new postdoctoral fellowship. This is a two-year appointment to teach and conduct research for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 academic years. Scholars whose work focuses on a critical spatial approach to American history, culture, and/or the built environment are strongly encouraged to apply. Each year, the Fellow is expected to be in residence in the Hartford area, teach three graduate courses, and lead a capstone colloquium dedicated to creating a community of students finishing their graduate degree. In addition to pursuing an independent research agenda, the Fellow will actively participate in the intellectual life of Trinity College.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in American Studies or related discipline (earned in the past three years) or a reasonable expectation of completing the Ph.D. by August 2018. To apply submit a letter of interest, a current curriculum vitae, a writing sample, evidence of quality teaching, and two letters of references at the following site: https://trincoll.peopleadmin.com/postings/1563.

Applications will be reviewed as they arrive with full consideration given to those received by April 2, 2018. The program will continue to consider applications until this position is filled. Direct questions and inquiries to Scott Gac, director of the graduate program in American Studies.
