Call for Papers: 44th Annual Susman Graduate Conference at Rutgers History (due 1/15/22)

The Susman Conference Steering Committee at the Department of History, Rutgers University-New Brunswick, is seeking submissions for the 44th Annual Susman Graduate Conference.

This year, our theme is “Crossing Boundaries: Disruption, Disturbance, and Defiance.”  The Conference welcomes papers from graduate students in history as well as other disciplines on the theme of histories across boundaries.  We particularly look forward to proposals that connect histories across the boundaries of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, technology, borders, and species.

Abstracts of up to 300 words with a working title, as well as a one-page curriculum vitae, should be sent by January 15, 2022, to susmanconf@history.rutgers.edu.  Selected participants will be notified of their acceptance by mid-February.

The Conference will take place on April 1, 2022, on Rutgers-New Brunswick campus and on Zoom simultaneously.
