Call for Proposals for the CUNY Professional Development Conference

The Professional Development Conference will be hosted virtually on November 9th and 10th, and will continue to provide an opportunity for peer-to-peer learning amongst all CUNY faculty and staff. In the last couple of years, the conference has been able to provide CUNY employees with over 80 sessions and have continued to grow participation each year. Hopefully, this year will not be any different!

This year’s theme will focus on “Bridging the Growing Divide: Working Towards Inclusivity & Consensus”. If you would like an opportunity to present, please submit your conference session proposal by Friday, September 18th. Please note that to complete the conference proposal form, you will need to log in with your Office365 username and password (i.e. username: Jane.Doe20@login.cuny.edu, password: your CUNYfirst password).

This year, topics should fall into one of the following core tracks:

  • Track 1: Executive Leadership: Be a Leader Who Makes a Difference
  • Track 2: Management Essentials: Influence, Implement and Manage Change
  • Track 3: Cultural Competence: The Way Ahead in a Challenging Social Environment
  • Track 4: Health & Wellness: Strategies for Success
  • Track 5: The Power of the Learner: Shaping Your Narrative
  • Track 6: Technology as a Bridge to Consensus

Session Formats:
All proposed sessions should be 60 minutes in length. Presenters are encouraged to select formats which will allow them to deliver engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Proposals from individuals are welcome, as well as panel proposals. All sessions will be recorded and provided to CUNY employees at a later date.

Session Selection Criteria:
The UHR Professional Development & Learning Office will review all proposals in detail to determine which will be selected for the conference. Acceptances will be announced by the week of September 18th.

Please email University.Training@cuny.edu.with any questions or concerns; thank you for your participation.
