Fall 2024 New Media Lab Events

 

New Media Lab has an exciting lineup of plans for the fall, and they hope you’ll join them for some or all of the events below.

Info Sessions/Open Houses:

  • In-Person: Tuesday, September 10 at 6:00 PM (Room 7388.01)
  • Remote: Thursday, September 12 at 1:00 PM (Zoom registration link)

Monthly Meetings (Online):

During the first meeting, New Media Lab is eager to hear from you about your needs and how they can best support your digital and multimedia projects.

Workshops (In-Person):
American Social History Project (ASHP) is lucky to have an expert in video production on its team—as such, David Scheckel will be leading the following workshops:

  • Pre-Production Essentials: Getting Started on Your Multimedia Project

  • Recording Basics: Capturing Quality Audio and Video
    Thursday, October 10, 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Video Editing for Beginners
    Thursday, November 7, 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

This workshop series couldn’t come at a better time, as they will soon be receiving seven new computers for the NML, some of which are specifically geared toward multimedia editing.

If you are not currently a researcher at the lab but are interested in becoming one, please complete a student application or a faculty application. Please note that you don’t need to be a current researcher at the lab to attend the workshops.
