Part-Time Associate to support Faculty Director of Tow Mentoring Initiative at Brooklyn College

POSITION DETAILS: Brooklyn College of the City University of New York is seeking applications for a part-time associate to start in August 2024. The part-time associate will assist and report to the Faculty Director of the Tow Mentoring Initiative at Brooklyn College. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

• Recruiting faculty and students to program;
• Managing office communications and scheduling;
• General program administration, such as ensuring that faculty and students complete appropriate paperwork (for stipends, reporting to funders, etc.);
• Co-facilitating workshops with student cohorts to help prepare them to present research at conferences, apply to graduate schools, acquire competitive jobs and internships, and secure prestigious grants and awards;
• Serving as liaison between the Mentoring Initiative and other offices on campus, including the Budget Office, the Development Office, and others, as needed;
• Assisting with monitoring, evaluating, and developing the program.

The part-time associate is a grant funded position for the Mentoring Initiative. The grant will run for three years beginning in August 2024. The position is for twenty hours per week primarily in person (with some flexibility for hybrid). This is an excellent position for a graduate student interested in mentoring, research, and administration.

• Capacity to work independently and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with CUNYfirst, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace
• Experience working with students

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$45.00/hour for 20 hours/week for 40 weeks/year (annually $36,000)
