Part-Time Instructors (multiple positions) in Environmental History/Global History at Pratt Institute

The Department of Social Science & Cultural Studies at Pratt Institute seeks part-time faculty to teach multiple sections of pre-modern/early-modern global history and environmental history in Spring 2025. The sections they are seeking to fill are listed below. Candidates should be ABD PhD students with relevant teaching experience or have a PhD in history, sociology, anthropology/archaeology, or a related field. Successful applicants will be eligible to teach up to two sections, with compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications within the range of $2300-2500 per credit-hour ($6900-7500 per section). This part-time teaching position contributes to the Department’s minor in sustainability and their general education core classes in global history, and these courses will enroll students from across Pratt’s undergraduate programs in art, design, and architecture. Standard sections enroll up to 22 students and writing intensive sections are capped at 15. All these courses will meet in person on Pratt’s Brooklyn campus. The Spring semester runs 1/27/2025-5/15/2025.
