African History – Guest Position

 

Sarah Lawrence College invites applications for a half-time guest faculty position in African history starting August 2018. We are looking for a dynamic teacher scholar with interdisciplinary interests who could offer open-level seminars and help students develop research and writing skills in addition to the material of the discipline. Sub-specialty and period are open but some areas of interest are global history, Africa and the diaspora, environmental history, and history of science. The successful candidate will teach two courses, one in the fall and one in spring, and will meet biweekly with each student individually to work on project culminating in a paper.
