COUPLES COUNSELING:

After pandemic pause, Student Counseling Services is now re-starting couples counseling. Is your romantic relationship suffering due to communication conflicts? Do daily stresses, in particular those related to graduate school, affect your bond? Consider couples counseling. Trained counselors use diverse approaches like interpersonal, emotion-focused, and cognitive behavioral techniques to help you and your partner navigate challenges, enhance understanding, and strengthen your emotional connection. Your partner does not need to be a student at The Graduate Center to request couples counseling services.

GROUP COUNSELING:

Group can be a wonderful way to connect with other graduate students by sharing and processing experiences as well as by learning about resources, new perspectives and strategies. Group can help you to feel less alone and more supported in graduate school. Please note, space is limited and an individual meeting with the group facilitator(s) is required to determine goodness of fit. Membership in the group is not guaranteed. Most groups are ongoing with current members. It is possible that based on current group membership, the group’s focus may not be the right fit for what you are looking for. If this happens, the group facilitator will work with you to provide alternative sources of support. Please send your request soon.

If you are interested in joining a group, please complete the Request for Services form and email it to wellness@gc.cuny.edu or submit via the Virtual Drop-Off Service (please include a jpg picture of your student I.D.)  For students who wish to complete or drop-off the form in-person, please visit the website for hours of operation.

Note: You must be a registered student of the Graduate Center or Craig Newmark School of Journalism to be eligible to join
