William Helmreich’s The New York Nobody Knows: Walking 6,000 Miles in the City is a fascinating account of a 6,000-mile walk through New York City. Based on interviews with hundreds of people, including former Mayors Koch, Giuliani, Dinkins, and Bloomberg, Helmreich’s book gathers previously unknown facts and stories about New York’s many neighborhoods, the immigrants, the gentrifies, the gangs, the community “characters,” the homeless, and much, much more.

EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
