TLC Workshops: “Course Reflection and Reconfiguration” and “Drafting a Statement of Teaching Philosophy”

The Teaching and Learning Center invites Graduate Center students and faculty to attend two upcoming workshops.

On Friday, September 17 from 2:00-3:30pm, TLC staff will host a Course Reflection and Reconfiguration Workshop, an opportunity for instructors to discuss what’s working well and not as well thus far this semester, and to talk through any adjustments they might want to make.

On Wednesday, September 22, from 6:00-7:30pm we’ll meet to discuss Drafting a Statement of Teaching Philosophy. We’ll cover what makes a strong statement, how to frame what’s distinct about the CUNY experience, and how to approach the rhetorical challenge of crafting this document. We’ll examine effective statements and work through various approaches.

To register for the workshops above, please complete this form: http://cuny.is/tlc-workshops. An email with a Zoom link will be sent to you prior to the workshop.

Those wishing to receive feedback on drafts of their statements of teaching philosophy from the Writing Center can request a consultation with the Writing Center here: https://gcwritingcenter.commons.gc.cuny.edu/book-an-appointment/ or request a consultation with the TLC here: https://cuny.is/tlc-consultation.
