iPhone Audio-Visual Interview Recording Basics

A beginner’s guide to shooting an interview on your mobile phone. This lab will cover lighting, visual composition principles, using a tripod/adapter, the importance of sound quality, and microphone basics. Bring your phone, and if you have a phone tripod/holder, bring it along.

 

WordPress-friendly Visualization Tools for Teaching and Research

Learn about free tools for creating visualizations and displaying them on a WordPress site for use in teaching or research. Participants will have time during the session to experiment with the tools and have collaborative discussions.

 

The How To’s of Grant Writing

Designed for students with no previous experience in writing grant proposals. Attendees will learn about research and project funding opportunities at the CUNY Graduate Center, and how to write data-based descriptions, define outcomes, build evaluation plans, create budgets, and leave with a sample grant application for future use.

 

HTML & CSS Basics

An introductory lab covering the basics of writing HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) code and styling it with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Gain hands-on experience to build the foundations of well-designed websites. No prior HTML/CSS experience needed.
