Please join distinguished urban photographer Camilo Jose Vergara, CUNY Graduate Center sociologist Sharon Zukin, Time photography writer Phil Bicker, and writer Erik Washington discuss recent changes in Harlem—a neighborhood of great cultural significance that has survived years of disinvestment, poverty, and crime to face the mixed benefits of gentrification and newfound diversity. This event highlights the visual and social changes Vergara documents in his new book, and through repeated photographic journeys around Harlem in the past four decades.
