05-22 GC Free First Aid Training

On any given day, thousands of people are injured in accidents. While most of these injuries are nothing more than scrapes, bruises or minor cuts, more serious injuries often occur. While we hope that we are never placed in a life or death situation, it is very important to know what to do should one arise. First Aid training can provide you with some of the skills needed to react with confidence in life-threatening situations.

The Office of Security and Public Safety will be offering a free National Safety Council First Aid class to Graduate Center students, staff and faculty on Thursday, 5/22/14 from 9AM to 5PM in room C197. Students enrolled in the class will learn the basics about providing first aid such as treating burns, splinting broken bones, recognizing the symptoms of shock, treating heat stroke and heat exhaustion, controlling bleeding, etc. By taking this class you will not only serve the Graduate Center Community but may one day be able to save the life of a loved one.

If you are interested in taking the class please send an email to security@gc.cuny.edu.
