10/15 – Visions of Modernity at the 1939 New York World’s Fair (NYPL Doc Chat Episode 6)

The 1939 New York World’s Fair promised a view of the “World of Tomorrow” through its dazzling displays of up-to-the-minute cultural and technological advancements. On Thursday, 10/15 at 3:30 pm, NYPL’s Tal Nadan and art and graphic design historian Ann Schoenfeld will analyze the design of promotional posters and discuss how visual language was employed to underscore the modernism of the fair.
