12/7- TLC Workshop: “We Are All Freaking Out!” Managing Anxiety in the Classroom

TLC Workshop: “We Are All Freaking Out!” Managing Anxiety in the Classroom

Thursday, December 7, 2023, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Online

Anxiety is usually a response to discomfort. Anxiety about speaking in public in front of others, for example, might emerge from a fear of being judged, or a concern for not being good enough for the job. Teaching can trigger this and many other discomforts, but there are strategies we can learn to manage how our anxiety shows up. This workshop will explore specific techniques, and will also discuss how to put our own anxieties in perspective of our goals as students and instructors. Attending this workshop at the end of the semester provides an opportunity to think through how to manage tension produced by the convergence of high-stakes assignments and final projects of our own.

This workshop is organized in collaboration with the Wellness Center.
