12/8 – TLC End of Semester Course Reflection

By the time December ends, we’ll have completed our fourth semester of pandemic teaching and learning. While some of us have already returned to teaching in-person, others of us are being asked to do so for the first time next semester. Others still are continuing to teach online and feeling the wear of too much screen time and isolation.

This Teaching and Learning Center workshop will give us some space to reflect on the challenges of teaching at this moment. We will talk about what has worked for us in the classroom, as well as what hasn’t. We will explore strategies for meeting the needs of our students without sacrificing our own well-being. Recognizing that teaching online can often be harder and more time-consuming, we’ll identify some time-saving strategies. We’ll explore how to reconnect with the joyful parts of our work and discuss how to best navigate the uncertainty and the transition back to the classroom.

All are welcome to this workshop. Whether there is something specific you want help troubleshooting or whether you want to decompress and break the isolation of this past semester, we are happy to have you! Conversations at this workshop will inform the planning for the TLC’s Mid-Winter Institute.
