2/27 Digital Fellows Workshop – Using WordPress Academically

This semester, the Digital Fellows at the Graduate Center are offering free workshops for all students and faculty. These workshops will go beyond introducing you to software and websites; we’ll be suggesting new, digital solutions to ongoing research problems. Please join us for our latest workshop of the Spring 2013 term:

Using WordPress Academically: Creating and Editing a WordPress Site to Establish an Online Academic Identity.

Wednesday, February 27th 2013 – 6:30-8:30pm; Room C196.01

The purpose of this workshop is to familiarize participants with the WordPress platform while creating a digital academic identity on the CUNY Commons.  We will focus on the main design and content components of a WordPress site, including theme editing, managing content, plugin capability and image use.  We will create a WordPress site on the CUNY Commons that can be used as a digital CV, a blog, or both.  The workshop will be hosted by Andrew G. McKinney and Laura Kane.

If you would like to attend the workshop, please RSVP here: Eventbrite

We recommend that attendees come prepared with their CV (digital format preferred) and / or a blog idea or sample blog post.  If you are not already a member of the CUNY Commons, we recommend that you sign up before the workshop.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions in advance of the workshop. We hope to see you there!
