Comic books featuring Disney characters Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge were among the most-read magazines of any type during the years after the Second World War. Millions of children followed those characters in their weekly journeys to foreign lands in search of treasure. For many, this was their first and most enduring introduction to U.S. foreign relations. But what did the Donald Duck stories actually teach?
