4/14 – Is Globalization Over? (feat. History alum Marc Levinson)
The COVID-19 pandemic and the recent trade wars have had a severe impact on globalization, affecting supply chains, travel, technology, and more. As a new administration with markedly different priorities takes over, where do we go from here? Will China and the U.S. reposition themselves? Is the age of globalization in the past? What have we learned and about the new world order, and how can we move forward with smarter and more productive policies? Delving into these issues, a panel of experts features: Chad P. Bown, senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and co-host of the podcast Trade Talks; Soumaya Keynes, trade and globalization editor for The Economist and co-host of the podcast Trade Talks; Paul Krugman, distinguished professor of economics at The Graduate Center, CUNY; and Marc Levinson (GC PhD in History, 2009), author of Outside the Box: How Globalization Changed from Moving Stuff to Spreading Ideas.
