Details about the workshop:

Participants will learn how to incorporate LGBT health knowledge into advocacy to improve the wellness of t​heir LGBT peers. This workshop will address LGBT health concerns to enhance sensitivity and understanding, not only for LGBT students, but also for LGBT staff and coworkers.

We will explore ways in which students, academic institutions, and community members can work together to improve LGBT health and eliminate barriers to care.  Topics covered will include sexual health, HIV, medical and non-medical transition, healthcare barriers, LGBT sensitivity, best vocabulary to use, words to avoid, and best practices for LGBT health and wellness.
