Adelphi University Department of History is seeking adjunct instructors

The Adelphi University Department of History is seeking adjunct instructors for two classes this coming semester.

Hist 204: Black History to 1865; Tues./Thurs. 10:50-12:05

Hist 317: The Civil Rights Movement; Tues./Thurs. 1:40-2:55

Both are cross listed in our African, Black and Caribbean Studies Department.  We would welcome someone capable of teaching both courses simultaneously.

The instructor stepping into the courses could simply take over the syllabi that were scheduled to be used, though they would be welcome to add in or modify based upon their own research interests and expertise.

Compensation would be at our adjunct rate of around $4500 per class.

Adelphi University is located in Garden City, Long Island, and is easily accessible via the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma lines of the LIRR.

Given the time sensitive nature — the first day of each class is August 28th — those interested are encouraged to contact the Chair, Edward Reno, as soon as possible: ereno@adelphi.edu
