Adelphi University in Garden City, NY seeks to hire an adjunct instructor to teach an honors college section of Western Civilization I (Antiquity to the Renaissance and Reformation) in the fall 2014 semester. The class meet Mondays and Wednesdays 4:15-5:30pm beginning on 3 September. Enrollment is capped at 20 students. Pay is $4,152 for the course. A peer review of the course will be conducted, which could be useful for someone seeking to build a teaching portfolio.

Adelphi University can easily be reached from NYC by public transportation via a short ride on the Long Island Railroad from Penn Station as well as from the LIRR’s Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn and Jamaica Terminal in Queens.
