Discussion section leaders needed for “onboarding” course for freshmen and new transfer students at the Colin Powell School (Social Sciences) at CCNY.  The course, Bridges to Success: Leadership and the Social Sciences, was created to prepare students interested in the Social Sciences for success in college and career. It covers three topics—1) an intro to social sciences, 2) the skills and tools for navigating college and career, and 3) the history of student activism at CCNY.  It’s a large lecture class with weekly discussion sections.

Needed: two discussion section leaders for Fall 22.  The class meets once a week—Mondays, 3:30-6:15. The plenary/lecture portion runs from 3:30-4:45, and then all of the sections, capped at 20 students, meet immediately thereafter from 5-6:15.  Pay is for 32 adjunct hours.  Applicants should contact Cynthia Gutierrez, Manager of Mentoring and Alumni Relations, at cgutierrez@ccny.cuny.edu.
