Author Seeks Paid Researcher (MA or PhD)

Published NYC-based author seeks part-time researcher to assist with a nonfiction history book, to be written this fall/winter and published in 2024. The subject matter is related to American politics in the early 1960’s, written for a popular readership.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience doing in-depth historical research with primary and secondary sources; organizing citations; detailed fact-checking; and compiling endnotes. Fluency with court documents and newspaper archives is also important.

 

The position will start right away and be part-time, with expected hours in the range of 10hrs/week, for up to nine months. The exact weekly schedule can be flexible. Base pay is $25/hr. This position can be mostly or completely remote but in-person trips to research locations may be required.
