“Black Is Beautiful” Exhibit at New York Historical Society in its Final Week!

“Black is Beautiful: The Photographs of Kwame Braithwaite” is a remarkable exhibit at the New York Historical Society.  This evocative exhibit is based on Tanisha Ford’s amazing first two books Liberation Threads and Kwame Brathwaite: Black is Beautiful.  The conversation between these two books and the exhibit are remarkable examples of incisive scholarship that also speaks powerfully to the public and is about (black) publics at a critical historical moment.

Note this exhibit closes this Sunday, January 15th.
