College Assistant Role Available- GC Institutional Advancement

 

The Graduate Center’s Office of Institutional Advancement seeks a College Assistant to join its staff on a temporary basis. The Office of Institutional Advancement is responsible for all activities undertaken by the Graduate Center to promote philanthropic investment and develop engagement among numerous communities at the Graduate Center (alumni, faculty, staff, and community supporters).

Job responsibilities would include:

  • Create, write and execute email communications for alumni constituents and other donor groups through communication and giving platforms (Blackbaud Online Express, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and NXT fundraising CRM software, Bonterra GiveGab, Microsoft 365 Outlook, etc.)
  • Research and confirm alumni data by using online media tools (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other online sources) and research software (iWave, LexisNexis). Update records in database.
  • Compile alumni profiles and update alumni biographical and contact information in Raiser’s Edge database and code records accordingly.
  • Assist with fundraising appeal efforts (review mail merge, format letters, prepare stationery for mailing).
  • Assist with events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The position is for 20 hours a week. The position requires strong organizational, oral and written communication, and technical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with others. Knowledge of Word and Excel is essential.
