Dec. 21 The History Department at Queens College seeks to appoint a tenure-track Assistant Professor

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The History Department at Queens College seeks to appoint a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of US history with a specialization in New York City beginning in Fall, 2015. The search is broad, but our department also has particular interests in a number of additional sub-fields, including the colonial era and early republic; economic history; the Borough of Queens; and New York in the Atlantic World. The successful candidate will teach both halves of the US history survey in addition to upper division and Master’s level electives in her/his field, and also share departmental responsibilities on administrative and supervisory committees. Queens College, one of New York City’s premier educational institutions, is a public, urban university, where a diverse student body receives personalized attention.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
