Nov. 14- Assistant Professor- Dept of History- Historian of The Nineteenth-Century US

Subject to available funding, the Department of History at Montclair State University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position to start on September 1, 2015 as an historian of the nineteenth-century United States (Position VF-14). The department welcomes applications from specialists in all subfields of American history from the early-national period through the Gilded Age. Primary teaching responsibilities will include lower- and upper-level undergraduate courses as well as courses at the Masters level, with opportunities to develop new courses in specific areas of expertise. One-quarter of this position will include partial administration of the Social Studies Teacher Certification Program, currently housed in the History Department. All applicants must have a Ph.D. in History conferred by January 1, 2015 and should demonstrate an active and successful research agenda. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
