CUNY EARS (Early American Republic Seminar) cordially invites our colleagues to a discussion with Dr. Rosemarie Zagarri of George Mason University. We will be discussing excerpts from Professor Zagarri’s latest project entitled A Tale of Two Empires: Thomas Law, British India, and the Early American Republic. Dr. Zagarri’s visit to the CUNY Graduate Center is part of EARS’ monthly discussion of written works with established scholars in the field of the early American republic.]

Rosemarie Zagarri is a Professor of History at George Mason University. She holds a PhD from Yale University and has previously served as the President of the Society for the History of the Early American Republic (SHEAR) as well as on the editorial boards of American Quarterly, the Journal of the Early Republic, and the University of Virginia Press. Her previous works include Revolutionary Backlash: Women and Politics in the Early American Republic and The Politics of Size: Representation in the United States, 1776 – 1850.
