Fall 21 grader sought for Queens College U.S. HIST-104

Prof. Peter Conolly-Smith seeks a grader for his Queens College U.S. HIST-104 (second half of survey) lecture class, which will be offered on-line and synchronous Fall 2021: MW 10:45 -12 noon via Blackboard. Grader will be expected to twice grade approx. 50-60 undergraduate papers of 2-3 pp. in length. Both papers are primary source analyses, one covering 1890s – 1930s and the other, beginning with WWII. (Professor will provide a “key” for each source with basic expectations and pp. # references grader can refer to.) Grader should also expect two spurts of time-sensitive grading during midterm and finals periods (10-day-or-less turnaround required for Oct. 20 midterm; 5-day turnaround for Dec. 15 final). Grad students in U.S. history (or related field) interested in learning the ropes of managing a large lecture course (maximum enrollment 90) are particularly encouraged to apply. Attendance during twice-weekly lectures is recommended but not required. Pay is $1675 for the semester. Please contact Peter.Conollysmith@qc.cuny.edu
