Fellowships at the NYPL (application deadline 1/15)

We are currently accepting applications for the following fellowships. We welcome applicants intending to significantly engage with items or collections unique to the NYPL’s research holdings [nypl.org]. We seek applicants that can potentially advance, reimagine, and diversify the scholarship and stories that can be produced with these collections.


NEH Long-Term Fellowships at the New York Public Library

The New York Public Library is happy to announce the National Endowment for the Humanities Long-Term Fellowships, which will provide support for advanced research in the humanities. Applications are open to scholars studying the history, literature, and culture of peoples represented in collections that are housed at the Library, and to professionals in fields related to the Library’s holdings, including librarianship and archives administration, special collections, photography, prints, and maps. The fellowships support 2 fellows for 9 months with a stipend of $45,000. Short-Term Research Fellowships at the New York Public Library

Applications are now being accepted for NYPL Short-Term Research Fellowships. The fellowships are intended to support scholars engaged in graduate-level, post-doctoral, and independent research in the arts and humanities. Fellowship stipends are $1,000 per week for a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of four.
