Futures Initiative Call for Proposals: 2020-2021 Team-Taught Intro Courses, Faculty Fellowship

Once again in 2020-2021, the Futures Initiative is pleased to support CUNY faculty at the Graduate Center and other CUNY colleges who are engaged in interdisciplinary team teaching. If you teach at any of the CUNY campuses, apply to teach a team-taught course at the Graduate Center and serve as a Futures Initiative Faculty Fellow! Selected faculty will be part of a cohort of Futures Initiative Faculty Fellows, teaching an innovative course as part of their workload, and will receive $1,000 in research support.

The Futures Initiative will fund up to five graduate courses in any field that (1) have equity, diversity, inclusion, and innovation built into the course design and that (2) dedicate some of the course to graduate student teaching methods and translation of specialized research for a wider public, including the “public” of the undergraduate students being taught by our graduate students. Please find all the information on our website.

If you are a CUNY Graduate Student, your opinion matters to us. Who better than students to detect those bold and innovative educators a new higher education demands. This is a great opportunity for you to encourage your professors to propose a team-taught course! Check out the series of events we have planned for this Fall, and keep an eye on our courses in the Spring.

Take a look at our current courses or courses we have offered in prior years. Contact Katina Rogers, Futures Initiative Co-Director, with any questions or preliminary inquiries.

Please submit preliminary team-teaching and course ideas by October 21, 2019 using this simple form.
