Guest Position at Sarah Lawrence College – Latin American History
Sarah Lawrence College invites applications for a half-time guest faculty position in Latin American history starting August 2017. We are looking for a dynamic teacher scholar with interdisciplinary interests who could offer open-level seminars and help students develop research and writing skills in addition to the material of the discipline. Sub-specialty and period are open but preference will be given to candidates who complement existing strengths of the faculty. We would be especially interested in candidates who can teach political, social and cultural history, women’s and gender history, Caribbean history, and/or the history of revolutions. The successful candidate will teach two courses, one in the fall and one in spring, and will meet biweekly with each student individually to work on project culminating in a paper. PhD in hand by the time of appointment is preferred, but ABDs with some teaching experience will be considered.
